Retaliation in Williamsburg

Posters went up in Williamsburg calling for the boycott of a store owner, whose daughter recently testified against convicted pedophile Nechemya Weberman.  David Niederman can issue a public statement to stop this harassment against a fellow Jew, but as usual, Niederman is more concerned about the money he receives from the "askanim" in Satmar than in standing up for the right thing.

So you have an understanding what this retaliation is all about.  Religious Jews, especially chassidim, are prohibited from going to a gentile court for (almost) any reason.  There is a long list of exceptions, but the general community only knows of one exception -- if the person refuses to cooperate with a Jewish Court.

However, there are many other exceptions that exist.  If a person's life is in danger, if a person's health is in danger, and if someone is using the Torah to commit more sins.  The last exception is the most important one, because this could be applied to unpaid wages (a common phenomenon at Jewish day schools in Williamsburg and Boro Park).

The Torah permits an employer to be paid late only if it is completely beyond the employer's control.  To be completely beyond the employer's control, the employer himself must not be paid yet. (Other debts can be paid and it would still be OK.)

There are some Jewish day schools where the administrator himself does not get paid.  He receives income through a private business he owns (and pays someone else to operate that business) or he is a rabbi of a shul.  Legally, they are all liable, but no religious hypocrisy exists for these people.

However, where the administrator does get paid his full salary of $100,000+ per year, there is zero excuse to pay anyone late.

But in Chassidish Williamsburg, anyone caught standing up for himself in court is condemned to a lifetime of harassment.

The victims of child abuse should sue hire a detective and sue in civil court for retaliation.
