The Chassidim in Hungry were guilty of murder because they chose to ignore the plights of their brothers. In Hungry, Jews were even sending back frum yidden to their deaths.
So many joined their brothers.
Today, Chassidim established countless organizations that serve non-frum Jews such as Hatzolah. Their good work today should atone for the sins of their extended families.
